The QuickPoint Web Services (QPWS) consists of two products which target the needs of users to adhere to both the HMDA and CRA regulations that require geocoding of all applications to compliance grade level. The products also allow for analysis of demographic data which is useful for Fair Lending and other business analysis. Both products of QPWS provide geocode results matched to the address information provided by the user. The difference between the products is in the delivery and receipt of the data.
The first product is QuickPoint, this service consists of a webpage UI where the user can key in a specific address and obtain instant geocode results on screen. The data elements provided from RATA consists of state and county code, MSA, census tract, latitude, longitude, census tract decennial family median income, MSA decennial family median income, HUD estimated family median income, census tract income indicator and census tract minority population percentage.
The second product is more dynamic by taking a XML POST request programmatically and returning a response of corresponding data. This system is versatile in allowing the user to make XML POSTS from third party systems and applying the response data in the manner desired. In addition to the data provided by the Quick Point product, extensive demographic data is also available. From a technical perspective, a simple communication between the user’s system and RATA’s dedicated server using the SOAP protocol allows the transfer of XML-based data both to and from RATA.
All geocodes derived through QPWS are of regulatory precision and the user can elect to receive either a centroid or no result on records that cannot be geocoded. The systems are updated with the latest address and geocode data both quarterly and semi-annually. The demographic data is updated annually and supplied by the FFIEC. Precision, speed, and accuracy were all taken into account in the design of these systems and RATA Associates is pleased to provide this exceptional service.
